Terry Fox's dream lives on

Runners and non-runners alike will join together this weekend to help raise funds for cancer research, in honour of Canadian icon Terry Fox.

Inspired by Fox's Marathon of Hope in 1980, the event is now in its fourth decade and dedicates the majority of raised funds to cancer research, enabling practical solutions for cancer patients around the world.

Participants can run, walk, bike, rollerblade, or wheelchair the distance, and in some locations, even leashed dogs will be allowed to join the fun. Distances range from one to 10 kilometres, depending on the event location.

More than 900 Terry Fox Run events are being hosted across Canada this Sunday. To register or find your local event, visit https://www.terryfox.org/run
