Before the campaign trail, South Okanagan-West Kootenay MP Richard Cannings is getting ready to hit the KVR trail.

For the fourth year, Cannings will “Ride the Riding” during a seven-day bicycle trip across the vast region.

The tour will use a combination of rail trails and highway starting in Nakusp on August 23 and ending in Kaleden on August 29. The ride aims to highlight routes like the Kettle Valley Rail Trail, which are important tourist attractions and economic drivers in small communities. 

“These trails are important to our region allowing people easy access to the backcountry. I regularly ride them, enjoying meeting the people and the scenery along the route,” Canning said.

“I invite folks to join me on part of the ride or to meet me during breaks. This is their chance to express their concerns and interests to me.”

Constituents can ride sections of the trails with him or meet him during various coffee and meal breaks along the way.
