Vernon/North Okanagan RCMP members will be joined by partners with the City of Armstrong, Township of Spallumcheen, Armstrong Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce and Valley First Credit Union to fill the shelves of the local food bank, the detachment said in a release.

"Armstrong has a strong sense of community with neighbours helping each other out," said Sgt. Justin Thiessen, Rural Commander for the Vernon/North Okanagan RCMP.

"We have participated in this event since it started and I am always impressed with how generous people can be."

Beginning at 6 p.m., residents and visitors are invited to "Cram the Cruiser" with donations of non-perishable items which include: food, laundry and dish soap, feminine hygiene products, and other toiletries.
