Kelowna Airport says 47 passengers and four crew were evacuated from a WestJet flight that was loading at YLW on Monday.

A suspicious package left on board prompted a police response, but was deemed non-credible.

Police on Monday issued a press release stating the aircraft was empty and the package was discovered by crew members. However, airport communications officer Jessica Hewitt says the aircraft had started boarding when the discovery was made.

Everyone was deplaned while it was investigated, says Hewitt, and the scare was found to be false.

RCMP continue to investigate the incident.
