4 nabbed for armed robbery

Four Prince George suspects are now facing charges after an early morning armed robbery Wednesday.

Cpl. Craig Douglass says RCMP received a report of an armed robbery at a gas station at 5 Ave. and Tabor Blvd.

Three suspects that were disguised entered the business, a fourth stayed outside, demanding money and then struck the lone employee with what police say was a blunt object.

A small amount of cash was taken as well as cigarettes; all suspects fled on foot before RCMP were called.

Officers searched the suspects and located them at roughly 1:05 a.m. near an elementary school on Rainbow Drive, where all four were arrested.

Two adults and two youth were taken to the Prince George detachment.

The stolen cash and cigarettes were recovered while the victim does not appear to have suffered serious injuries.

Charges have been approved by the B.C. Prosecution Service against 24-year-old Brandon Joseph, 18-year-old Jonathan Christopher Matthews and two youth, male and female, aged 17.
