A precautionary boil-water notice has been issued by the City of West Kelowna.

The notice affects residents in the Ross and Brentwood road areas because of a water main tie-in complication.

Water has already been shut off to some residents in the area.

"Construction to install a sidewalk along Ross Road between Brentwood Road and Riffington Place is underway, and today’s water main tie-in caused some discolouration of water service to area residents," the city says.

The city and the contractor are working together to rectify the issue.

Normal service will be restored as soon as possible.

Free water is available to residents of those areas at the bulk water station at Shannon Lake and Asquith roads.
