Vandals trash heritage train

Charges are being recommended against two teens in Port Alberni after a heritage train was left trashed.

RCMP were called to the Alberni Pacific Railway roundhouse Monday after two youths were seen smashing windows on the historic train, CTV News reports.

The vandals smashed every window and discharged fire extinguishers inside the cars during a "destructive rampage," the Western Vancouver Island Industrial Heritage Society posted on its Facebook page.

The teens are expected to be charged with mischief, police say.
