Accelerate starts CEO search

Accelerate Okanagan has officially launched its search for a new chief executive officer.

Raghwa Gopal resigned from the non-profit organization earlier this year to become the president and CEO of Innovate BC in Vancouver. Former director of operations Brea Lake is currently serving as acting CEO.

After Gopal’s resignation but before beginning the search for a new boss, Accelerate Okanagan worked on a new set of strategic priorities for the next five years. Two of those goals include reaching a $5 billion economic impact (it was $1.7 billion last September) and multiplying the number of its members by five.

“We’ve set some big and audacious goals,” Lake said in a press release.

In addition to approving a new strategic plan, Accelerate Okanagan board members have formed a search committee and retained search firm, LoveHR, to support in undergoing an open hiring process as well as a nation-wide search for the next CEO.

The job listing is now live, and the nationwide search kicked off today.
