Ferry service to Nanaimo has been delayed Monday morning due to a medical emergency.

BC Ferries says the Queen of Oak Bay was two hours behind schedule departing from Horseshoe Bay.

"We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience you may experience as a result of this delay," BC Ferries said in a statement.

CTV News is reporting that it is unclear whether this delay will impact future sailings, if you are travelling to Vancouver Island you're advised to check BC Ferries website before departing.
