Trestles tour a huge hit

The recent Okanagan Trestles Tour was a great success, says organizer Glenn Bond.

Riders enjoyed perfect cycling weather for the seventh annual event, held last weekend.

"It was a perfect temperature for riding bikes, the sunshine with a mix of clouds and no rain," says Bond. "The rain earlier in the week improved the sandy sections and made an adventure crossing a few large water holes."

There were 520 participants riding 80, 40 or 20-kilometre routes along the abandoned railway line. With support crew, there were more than 550 people on the rail trail for the tour, says Bond.

He says feedback has been "incredibly positive," and registration is already open for next year.
