Armed robber chased down

An 18-year-old West Kelowna man is now facing charges after RCMP caught him red-handed after a hold up at the Husky gas station near Harvey Avenue and Burtch Road.

Dylan Milligan has been formally charged with robbery and disguising his face with intent to commit an offence, after he was caught Monday night.

Police found the man trying to flee the scene Monday evening after receiving a report that an armed robbery had just been committed at the Husky gas station.

Police learned the man entered the business and brandished a firearm, which was later determined to be a realistic imitation, before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash and tobacco products.
“That suspect attempted to evade our officers on foot,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey of the Kelowna RCMP.

“He was taken into police custody without incident, along Dickson Avenue, not far from the scene of the alleged armed robbery.”
Employees of the business were not harmed during the incident.
Milligan is expected to appear in court on July 18.
