Cop rescues injured eagle

An injured bald eagle is being cared for at B.C. Wildlife Park Rehabilitation centre in Kamloops after being rescued by a Logan Lake RCMP officer.

Const. Ryan Dell retrieved the eagle from the Mammette Lake area by putting it in a crate with help from a colleague.

“As a Mountie, you wear many hats. Some days you are a career counsellor or a conflict mediator, other days a traffic enforcer or a homicide investigator. Some days you are an animal wrangler,” Dell said.

“Whatever the call, we take them all!”

He brought the bird back to the detachment centre for the night before it was taken to the rehab centre.
