Snow is falling on Silver Star.

Summer is almost here, but it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Silver Star Mountain Resort.

Mountain bikers and hikers had to contend with snow on Thursday.

Pictures from Silver Star posted to social media show a little bit of snow in the village, but the summit is covered in the white stuff.

Chantelle Deacon, Silver Star communications and sponsorship manager, said it is actually not unheard of.

“It’s not unusual for us to see the odd bit of snow at this time of year because of colder temperatures up at the mountain. We do expect it will melt quickly. We are super excited to open for our bike park for our summer season and it’s looking like the sun might even come out for opening day tomorrow,” said Deacon.
