A thief was chased after he grabbed a bike from in front of the Okanagan Skate store in Vernon on Monday.

The surveillance video from inside of the store shows a man wearing a red shirt, blue jeans, black running shoes, a black hat and a backpack flip the bike onto its wheels and run off down the sidewalk. A man then emerges from the store in full flight to chase the thief.

Might be time to get out

Store owner Steven Wach said the robbery happened at 12:30 p.m.

"My customer bolted after the thief so I have no idea what kind of bike it was, unfortunately, or who the guy was," Wach said.
