Store asked to call for help

Police officers and paramedics surrounded a store in West Kelowna on Sunday afternoon.

Thrive Naturals store manager tells Castanet an individual came into the store and needed immediate help.

“There was a person who ran into problems and asked me to call the ambulance and police,” said Michelle Ewoniak.

Multiple police officers swarmed the parking lot at about 4:30 p.m.

Ewoniak says due to a nearby shelter being closed, it seems now more than ever that they need more resources to help transient people in West Kelowna.

She hopes the person is able to get the help they need.
