Get your bike ready this week in Kelowna, with the start of the annual Bike to Work and School Week on Monday. 

The kickoff event will take place at Stuart Park from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., and will include breakfast, coffee, prizes and a speech from Kelowna mayor Colin Basran. 

"I look forward to seeing lots of people out on their bikes, having fun and going the extra mile to reduce greenhouse gases,” Basran said. 

Six "celebration stations" will be hosted throughout the week around the Central Okanagan. At the stations, participants will find free refreshments, bike checks and yoga. There will also be daily prize giveaways. 

Twenty-nine schools are signed up to participate, and those commuting to work are encouraged to register here.
