Pedestrian seriously hurt

A 54-year-old man was rushed to hospital with serious, life-altering injuries after being struck by a vehicle Thursday.

Surrey RCMP said on May 23 at approximately 5:30 p.m, police responded to multiple reports of a collision at the intersection of Highway 10 and 152 Street.

“Once on scene, officers determined a silver Audi Q5 was travelling westbound and struck a pedestrian who was crossing Highway 10. The pedestrian, a 54-year-old male, was transported to hospital with serious life-altering injuries. The driver, a 36-year-old female, remained on scene and is co-operating with the police investigation,” said Cpl. Elenore Sturko.

Early indications are that the pedestrian was crossing from the south-side to the north-side in the crosswalk against the walking direction signals. Speed nor impairment are considered factors in the collision.
