$10K in merchandise stolen

Madison Erhardt

A Kelowna business owner is heartbroken after roughly $10,000 of merchandise was stolen from her store early Wednesday.

KoLu Clothing at Spall Plaza was broken into just before 2 a.m.

''We were definitely targeted because it was very specific what they took," says owner Jane Mifflin.

The thieves took premium denim located at the back of the store. They also took all the custom-made Italian shoes and boots and eight hand-made leather bags.

Mifflin is going through her inventory and expects the value of the stolen goods to exceed $10,000.

''It's an intrusion. We work really hard at what we do to provide special things to Kelowna, and when something like this happens in your own community, it's heartbreaking,'' Mifflin said.

''RCMP think it was a professional job and that we were definitely targeted,'' Mifflin added.

Anyone with information regarding the break and enter is asked to contact Kelowna RCMP.
