What were they thinking?

An illuminated children’s playground, kitty corner to the proposed supportive housing on Agassiz Road.

Really?

I am led to believe the parks department is proposing enhancing the Barlee Park and community garden by building a children’s park at the intersection of Agassiz and Barlee when the friends of the library house is vacated and demolished in July.

Yet, Kelowna council, in concert with BC Housing and the John Howard Society, does not seem to have a problem with housing drug addicts and the mentally ill in the same vicinity as the elderly and children.

Last month, seven drug addicts residing in Cornerstone supportive housing were taken to hospital suffering from overdoses of carfentanil.

It begs the question what on Earth are they thinking by proposing to introduce this into our quiet and pleasant neighbourhood?
