'It looks like a snake!'

Strange movement in Okanagan Lake captured the attention of people in Lake Country on Sunday.

Stacy Lynn Hammell was at Pixton Road Beach at about 2:40 p.m. when she spotted the mysterious wave

“That’s not a wave…it looks like a snake! It’s going back and forth,” someone can be heard saying in the video.

The three-minute long video shows movement in the water and it’s not clear what exactly it is, but Hammell thinks she witnessed the Ogopogo.

“The water behind and in front of the wave is strange,” Hammell tells Castanet.

Onlookers guessed it was about 100 feet long, possibly even 200 feet.

Other people thought they witnessed Ogopogo over the last few years, but it hasn’t always been accurate.

In May 2017, a man thought he captured the sea creature in Okanagan Lake but it was really just a pipe. Another sighting occurred in September 2018 where a man watched the creature make similar waves
