Blaze across from firehall

As fires go, it happened in a convenient place – right across the street from the firehall.

Seven residents were forced out of their home after an aggressive fire in a duplex early Thursday in Mission.

The fire started outside a carport and spread to the home, CTV News reports.

"A fire such as this, if it had been further away it would have been really challenging fire to contain. It was an aggressive fire that was moving quickly," assistant fire chief Norm Macleod told CTV.

All the occupants got out safely about 1 a.m.

The home had a sprinkler system that helped contain the fire, which does not appear to be suspicious.
