Blue Men kooky, engaging

The three silent Blue Men plus a tribal-rock band combined amazing visuals with comedic interludes, featuring two audience members plucked, somewhat reluctantly, from their seats to join the group onstage.

Have you ever wondered how many marshmallows a Blue Man can catch in his mouth, tossed from one side of the stage to the other? Answer: A lot.

At many times during the night, the performers were in the audience interacting, and those seated in the first few rows on the floor were provided with rain ponchos in case of paint splatter — the performance involved blacklight paint expelled into the air from the tops of drums, sprayed from their costumes and more.

The exciting finale had the whole place standing, clapping and dancing, as neon streamers fell from the ceiling and giant inflatable balls were passed around the audience.

If you missed it, flip through Castanet's gallery of photos, or check out their one remaining show at the SOEC, Wednesday night at 8 p.m. For tickets, click here
