No major incidents at 4/20

The first 4/20 event since recreational marijuana has been legalized brought a massive crowd in Vancouver that kept police officers busy.

Just before 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, the crowd peaked with about 60,000 people and 400 vendor tents at Vancouver’s Sunset Beach.

Vancouver Police Department Sgt. Jason Robillard said there were no major incidents during the event.

"Today was a good example of remarkable teamwork between the Vancouver Police, fellow first responders, the Vancouver Park Board, and the City of Vancouver,  allowing for a safe environment during a large scale event," said Robillard.

Police officers assisted BC Emergency Health Services with more than 14 medical emergencies, over 30 tickets were issued and three people were investigated for impaired driving.
