I've been reading the notices from the RCMP to lock your vehicles to keep your belongings safe. It doesn't matter if you lock your vehicle or not, there is a little black box-type piece of equipment that thieves are using that can unlock your car with the click of a button.
I have a surveillance system on my house and I do lock my car every time I leave it, but while I am walking up the stairs to my home, I can hear my car being unlocked! I did not hit my fob by mistake, I re-lock it before entering my home.
Doesn't make any difference "someone" has the ability to open locks with their equipment anyway.
