UPDATE: 6:30 p.m.

It's believed two individuals caught in the wind while paddleboarding on Okanagan Lake late Wednesday afternoon were able to get themselves to shore.

The Kelowna Fire Department has deployed its marine rescue boat to try and assist two paddleboarders caught in high winds.

According to officials, the two were blown away from shore by the winds across from Quail's Gate Estate Winery.

They have apparently been struggling for about 30 minutes without making much headway.
