Jailbirds sprung

Rob Gibson

UPDATE 12:20 p.m.

Notorious jailbirds Alanna Kelly and Ryan "2Ts" Watters are now free after having served their debt to society.

Soft 103.9 Program Director Ryan Watters tells Castanet, "this isn't my first rodeo."

He can also be seen in the video posted on Castanet fleeing an officer, yelling as he flees, "you'll never take me alive!"

"The cuffs were tight and I prefer yellow gold jewelry," said Kelly, who's used to being on the other side of putting ne'er-do-wells behind bars. "The cop car was a little squishy and there were footprints on the roof but the extra time with officers allowed me to get in a few more interviews. I always have questions!"

2Ts was defiant about the spelling of his name but showed some contrition. "It was an experience I don't want to go through it again. Handcuffs are not fun!"

Jailbirds and local celebrities from across Kelowna are feeling the long arm of the law today.

Castanet star reporter and self-described "crime aficionado" Alanna Kelly was arrested at 455 Lawrence Ave for "tweeting too much."

Joining Kelly in the slammer was Soft 103.9 Program Director  Ryan "2Ts" Watters. Watters obviously has one too many Ts in his name, and he's been described by those who know him well as "too nice for his good."

The pair have joined a host of other local celebrities and community-minded individuals who are helping to raise funds for the annual Cops For Kids charitable ride, the RCMP's signature fundraising event.

The RCMP jail and temporary courthouse are set up at Orchard Park Mall. If you care to support the cause and help Kelly and 2Ts out of jail, you can contribute on the Cops For Kids website.
