Chiefs pres hospitalized

The president and general manager of the Kelowna Chiefs hockey club is in hospital.

Grant Sheridan took ill while with the team in Revelstoke where his Kootenay International Junior Hockey League club was taking on the Grizzlies in the third round of league playoffs.

According to a post on the team's Facebook page, Sheridan was admitted to hospital in Revelstoke where he was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis.

Sheridan was transported to hospital in Kamloops where he remains in the intensive care unit.

The statement says while Sheridan is showing overall improvement, there are still "several complications going on."

"Grant is in the best hands possible, and we ask to keep him in your prayers as he is in the fight of his life," the past continued.

The team is asking for privacy for his family as well as Chiefs players and staff.
