The Wright Stuff

The Kelowna Falcons are proud to announce Ryan Wright as the new head coach for the 2019 season.

The Fruitland Idaho native is currently in his third season with the Montana State Billings (MSUB) Yellowjackets.  He has primarily worked with hitters and the offence at MSB and has had tremendous success.  Under his tutelage MSUB won a school record 33 games in 2018 and claimed it third Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) regular season title in four years.  His club broke the school record for homeruns and broke the GNAC single season record for runs per game for team slugging percentage.

During his playing days Wright was a second baseman who attended the University of Utah and Treasure Valley Community College and was named an Academic All-American.   He is currently working on his master’s degree in sports management.

He takes over the reins from Bryan Donohue who had to step down following last season’s North Division pennant.  Donohue is unable to commit to the Falcons in 2019 due to personal reasons and needs to be closer to home in Portland.

The Falcons open the season on the road in Bellingham on June 4th before hosting the 2019 home opener on June 7th against the newest team in the West Coast League the Ridgefield Raptors.
