Former OK Sun to CFL?

Former Okanagan Sun receiver Shai Ross was simply outstanding on Monday at the CFL Regional Western Combine in Edmonton and will now compete for a CFL roster spot.

He topped all participants in four of the six major tests including an incredible 11’3.00” broad jump.  In the premier event, 40-yard dash he ran a blistering 4.65, just two one hundredths of a second behind the top competitor.

Out of the 39 CFL draft hopeful prospects only three out of the talented pool were invited to the CFL National Combine in Toronto March 22-24 and Ross is one of them.  He will now look to impress CFL coaches and scouts ahead of the May 2nd Canadian Football League draft competing against over 40 other players.

Ross helped the Sun to an undefeated regular season in 2015 finishing 10-0.  They won the BC Conference and headed to Saskatoon to face the Hilltops in the CJFL Canadian Bowl national championship game but ultimately fell short.

During his year with the Sun, Ross hauled in 16 passes for 195 yards and caught four touchdowns.
