Interior Health says as of now, there are no confirmed cases of measles in the region.

As of recently, measles cases have occurred in Vancouver and Washington State.

“At this time there are no confirmed cases of measles in the Interior Health region,” said a spokesperson with Interior Health.

Interior Health Medical Health Officer Dr. Silvina Mema will be speaking with reporters today and Castanet will update after the interview.

Fifty-nine municipalities in the Thompson, Cariboo, Shuswap, Okanagan, Kootenay Boundary and East Kootenay area are all included in the Interior Health region.
