A Lake Country runner is making quite a name for herself on the international stage.
Taryn O'Neill led a Canadian sweep of the podium at the North American, Central American and Caribbean Championships (NACAC) in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, recently.
O'Neill, a freshman at Villanova University, won the under-20 6,000 metres in a time of 22 minutes, 8 seconds.
Teammates Charlotte Wood of Bracebridge, Ont. and Makenna Fitzgerald of Kamloops finished second and third, respectively.
O'Neill was a first-team Big East pick in the first two races of the year at Villanova.
