IHIT called to crime scene

UPDATE: 10:30 a.m.

Police in Surrey say a 60-year-old man died of injuries suffered from an assault inside a residence in the 13300 block of 105 Avenue.

They indicate the man was unconscious when police arrived. His injuries were consistent with foul play.

Investigators are saying very little, but do say while the incident was an isolated, targeted event, they do not believe it is linked to the Lower Mainland gang conflict.

The Integrated Homicide Response Team has taken over the investigation, and will be working in conjunction with Surrey RCMP.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation can call the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at [email protected] Should you wish to remain anonymous, please contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
