Penticton firefighters hiking towards a shed fire behind Doc's Golf Centre
Firefighters are currently dealing with a small structure fire involving a shed or shack behind Doc’s Golf Centre.
The Penticton Fire Department was called about the blaze at about 12:30 p.m., but had problems accessing it. Firefighters were stationed at the entrance to the driving range and on Lower Moorepack Drive.
Crews had to walk on foot to the fire, which was burning in a stand of trees. Only light smoke was visible from the road.
The Penticton Indian Band’s volunteer fire department has now taken control of the situation.
It’s not clear if anyone was in the shack when the fire broke out.
