Family Day weekend fun

Don't wait until Family Day to enjoy fun events with the whole gang.

Start Family Day weekend with a dance party.

On Saturday, families are invited to put on their dancing shoes to enjoy a fun-filled evening together from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Kelowna's Parkinson Rec Centre. The free event features DJ Haymaker and party games.

Families can keep the celebrations going by getting active at the Cap News Centre from 1 to 4 p.m. on Monday. Various games including Park & Play bouncy castles, Zorb soccer, skating and other activities will be available to guarantee a fun, safe and active day together. Skaters can bring their own skates or rentals are available for a fee. Helmets are required.

The Kelowna Art Gallery invites families of all shapes and sizes to join them this Family Day Monday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., for a full day of art activities, family friendly tours, and special programming for children and adults.

Step in out of the cold and explore four fascinating exhibitions on view before getting creative with a hands-on art activity. The Gallery’s Art Lab will also be open and will offer a number of self-directed activities for creative play at all ages.

The cost is just $5 per participant.

From Stiles and Drewe, comes The Three Little Pigs, it’s a very curly musical tale that is perfect for the whole family. The new version of the classic story is full of catchy songs, clever rhymes and silly charm. It’s on now through Feb. 24 at the WorkRoom on Enterprise Way.

For tickets, visit Kelowna Tickets, or for a chance to win a family pack, be watching Castanets Facebook page Tuesday.
