Travel mayhem at the Coast

A second winter storm to hit the Lower Mainland in as many days caused travel mayhem overnight.

Aside from slippery streets and highways, dozens of flights were cancelled or delayed at Vancouver International Airport, CTV News reports.

In a tweet Monday night, the airport said: "The whole team is here working to get passengers on their way."

However, more than 30 domestic and international flights were affected, and delays and cancellations continue this morning. Check the status of your flights here.

Meanwhile, a SkyTrain was stuck late Monday between the Aberdeen and Lansdown stations, halting service between Bridgeport and YVR.

Passengers were reportedly stuck on the train for more than three hours before being shuttled by buses.

TransLink tweeted it was experiencing delays across its system, and reduced service continues this morning on the Expo and Millennium lines.

All Vancouver public schools are also closed today due to the snow, which was forecast to dump up to 25 centimetres across the region.

BC Ferries cancelled evening sailings between the mainland and Vancouver Island on Monday due to deteriorating conditions.
