Trustee charged in sex sting

A former Vancouver School Board trustee is one of seven men facing charges following a police sting targeting men looking to have sex with underage girls.

Ken Clement sat on the VSB board from 2008 to 2014 and then from Oct. 2017 until he resigned in July 2018, reports CTV News.

He claimed he was resigning for personal reasons, but court records show he was charged on June 27, 2018 with communicating for the purpose of obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person under the age of 18.

CTV News reports Mario Celo Amistad, Jim Malmros, Jun Jie He, Nikolaos Dais, Donald Schroeder and Mehran Arefi are all facing the same charge.

A man with the same name as Dais recently retired from teaching at Little Flower Academy, a private all-girls Catholic high school in Vancouver.

The charges are a part of 47 men arrested during a large-scale VPD operation that saw police pose as underage girls and escort services on social media.
