Powder day for skiers

It's a real good day to go skiing in the Central and South Okanagan.

Local mountains near Kelowna and Penticton saw a big dump of snow overnight Tuesday, making Wednesday conditions ideal.

Apex Mountain saw 25 centimetres in the past 24 hours, and is looking at clear skies all day.

"Temperatures of minus 5-7 C overnight make for light, dry champagne powder," reads the resort's morning snow report. "Today will be the best day of the season so far."

Nearby Baldy Mountain saw 21 centimetres in the past 24 hours, and also has sunshine and temperatures around -7 C in the forecast for the day.

Near Kelowna, Big White saw 14 centimetres in just 12 hours overnight, and their morning snow report says the white stuff is still falling. Skiers there will be looking at scattered clouds and temperatures hovering around -6 C throughout the day.
