The Penticton RCMP handed out 27 tickets for speeding within school zones Wednesday.
The detachment’s “Community Safety and Enforcement Team” conducted a blitz on local school zones yesterday and were not happy with what they found.
“Subsequent to complaints from concerned parents about speeding within school zones, our CSET team responded. Several drivers were found to be in excess of 20 hm/hr in the 30 km/hr zones,” said Const. James Grandy.
The CSET team, a versatile squad of officers deployed to special projects, has also been spending more time in the downtown core through high visibility foot and vehicular patrols, Grandy said.
