A woman who drove her vehicle over two parked cars is believed to have mistaken her gas pedal for her brake pedal.
Police officers responded to Orchard Park Shopping Centre at about 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday and found an Isuzu Rodeo on top of a red Pontiac and a white Ford Focus.
A witness told police that the vehicle was driving through the mall parking lot and the driver lost control, suddenly accelerated and became airborne after striking the cement curb.
Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says the Kelowna woman in her 50s might have confused the vehicles brake pedal for the accelerator pedal.
“Miraculously both parked vehicles were unoccupied at the time and the lone occupant of the Isuzu was uninjured,” said O’Donaghey.
All three vehicles were towed away from the scene.
