Pot candies left on cars

Concern is being raised after edible pot gummies were left on cars in downtown Vancouver.

The pot-infused samples are yet to be legal, but were left on windshields during a marijuana expo on the weekend.

"If I had left this in my home and my child saw it, they would probably have eaten it without asking," Jas Johal, Liberal MLA for Richmond-Queensborough, told CTV News.

The samples were labelled Earth's Edibles, but the company says it didn't distribute them.

"The candies that were given out are not even sold by us," said owner Adam Osborne.

In a statement to CTV, the Ministry of Public Safety wrote: "Leaving samples of cannabis edibles on a car windshield where they could be accessed by children is irresponsible and dangerous. It is currently illegal under the federal Cannabis Act to commercially manufacture or sell cannabis edibles. "

Organizers of the cannabis expo also condemned the action.
