Robert Miedema was enjoying lunch inside the Wendy's Restaurant on Kelowna's Harvey Avenue, near Cooper Road, when he was startled by a loud bang outside the restaurant.
A dark grey Ford sedan had jumped the curb onto the sidewalk, and slammed into the front entrance of the restaurant.
The force of the impact took out a significant amount of brickwork, a window, mangled the door frame, and caused damage to the entranceway.
Miedema said two elderly women were in the vehicle when it hit the building.
He said the ladies inside the vehicle appeared shaken, but not injured.
Miedema said a few people were sitting near the entrance, but no one inside the restaurant was hurt.
