Rockets swept in PG

The Kelowna Rockets losing streak has stretched to four games.

The Rockets dropped their second in as many nights in Prince George Saturday, falling 4-0 at the hands of the Cougars.

Josh Maser in the first and Josh Curtis 68 seconds into the second gave the Cougars a 2-0 lead before Vladislav Mikhalchuk iced it with a pair of goals in the final period.

Ethan Browne assisted on three of the Prince George goals.

James Porter got the start Saturday, but left 3:42 into the second period, allowing two goals on 10 shots. Roman Basran, who didn't finish Friday's contest, went the rest of the way, allowing the two third period markers.

The Rockets were outscored 11-2 in the two games in Prince George.

Things don't get any easier for the Rockets, who will entertain the Moose Jaw Warriors Wednesday, and the top team in the nation, the Prince Albert Raiders on Saturday.

Prior to the game Saturday, the Rockets announced they had released defenceman Libor Zabransky.

Zabransky, a native of Brno, Czech Republic, will suit up for the Fargo Force of the United States Hockey League for the balance of the season.

"With eight defencemen here, we felt we needed to move one of our defenders," said GM Bruce Hamilton.

"We tried to trade him within the Western Hockey League. However, teams are only allowed two import players, and we couldn't get a deal done. He will report to Fargo immediately."

In 107 games with the Rockets over the last two seasons, Zabransky had four goals and 24 assists.
