Kelowna has moved up a notch on the busiest airports in Canada list.

A record 2.08 million passengers went through Kelowna International Airport in 2018, making it the 10th busiest airport in the nation.

Kelowna bumped another B.C. airport, Victoria's, from the national top 10 with its record-setting year.

“Surpassing two million passengers and reaching top 10 this past year are incredible accomplishments for YLW and the Okanagan,” airport director Sam Samaddar said in a press release.

“It’s an exciting time for YLW. We are in a period of tremendous growth, and the increase in travellers translates directly to a boost in the economy and support for local businesses.”
