Younger people have been killed by flu-related complications in the B.C. Interior during a particularly bad flu season this year.
The flu season began early this year, in November, and has hit the region's children and young adults harder than in past years.
This is due in part to H1N1, known as the swine flu, being the dominant strain this year. It was last seen during the 2015-16 season.
