The keen eye of an RCMP officer is being credited for the recovery of a stolen necklace.
December 9, an officer doing a curfew check on a man released on recognizance noticed the man wearing a distinctive-looking gold chain around his neck.
The officer recognized that this chain looked exactly like a chain that was stolen from Fifth Avenue Jewellers on September 17th.
Later that evening, Kamloops RCMP requested a search warrant for the man's home.
The next morning the search warrant was executed.
The 28-year-old Kamloops man was arrested for possession of property obtained by crime and the $4000.00 necklace was seized.
All investigative information has been forwarded to the British Columbia Prosecution Service who will determine charges.
