According to Revelstoke RCMP, officers were called to a number of theft complaints in the area between 4th and 8th Streets, all east of Mackenzie Avenue.
In all, police received complaints of an attempted stolen licence plate, theft of sled and trailer, entrance into a parking garage, stolen $3,000 bicycle, theft of cargo trailer, and several vehicles being entered.
The RCMP have found a set of keys in a vehicle that was most likely placed there by the thieves, possibly as a result of being stolen from another vehicle.
"In many instances, owners are not reporting these incidents, as nothing was taken or only small value items were removed," stated Staff Sgt. Kurt Grabinsky. "The Revelstoke RCMP encourages the public to report all incidents so that a better understanding of the crime pattern can be created. If the suspects are located, they can then be held accountable for all thefts."
Stolen items:
- 2015 Karavan SS151 Flatdeck trailer black BCLP: UDE24K
- 2010 Yamaha Nitro snowmobile black BCLP: 1C5382
- Santa Cruz Bronson Mountain bike, black with blue lettering
Also stolen, however, recovered in Columbia Park, was a small cargo trailer. It appears that since it did not contain a sled, they dumped the trailer.
"Police are encouraging residents and vehicle owners to take the time to secure their property," stated Grabinsky. "This can be achieved by hiding away valuables, including change, and to locking vehicles. Also securing trailers and recreational vehicles can prevent thefts."
The police are looking for a male and female, in a newer white pickup truck, who were seen attempting to steal the licence plate.
