The longest-serving aircraft in the Canadian Armed Forces took their last flights on Monday.
A formation of Sea King helicopters took one last ride over Vancouver Island, departing from 443 Maritime Helicopter Squadron near Victoria and flying over Patricia Bay to Duncan, Nanaimo, Parksville and Qualicum
The Sea Kings are being retired as the Royal Canadian Air Force replaces them with modern Cyclone helicopters, CTV News reports.
"No other fleet has served as long as the Sea King, and its 55 years of service are a monument not only to its durability and capability, but to the men and women who operated, maintained and otherwise supported this incredible helicopter," said Lt.-Gen. Al Meinzinger, commander of the RCAF.
