Man shot in Vancouver

Vancouver police are asking the public for help after a man was shot in a targeted shooting on Saturday evening.

Just after 5 p.m. on Dec. 15, the VPD received a report of shots fired in the area of East 53rd Avenue and Prince Edward Street.

Officers located the victim suffering from gunshot wounds and he was rushed to the nearest hospital.

“Based on the information collected so far, detectives believe this shooting was targeted,” said VPD Const. Jason Doucette. “We have officers in the area today looking for additional evidence."

"If you know something, or have video footage and have not yet spoken with police, please call or approach one of our officers.”

The VPD is asking for witnesses and anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward.

The  45-year-old Vancouver man sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting.
 
Anyone who may have been driving in the area between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 17 and seen anything suspicious is asked to contact investigators at 604-717-2541 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Specifically, police are looking for footage from anyone driving in the area of East 49th Avenue along the north, East 57th Avenue at the south, Fraser Street to the east, and Main Street at the west.
 
No arrests have been made.
