One person is dead following a head-on crash between a semi and pickup near Fort St. John.

Dawson Creek RCMP say the collision happened about 7:30 a.m. this morning on Highway 97, near the small community of Taylor.

The lone driver of the pickup truck died at the scene.

The highway remains closed while and the BC Coroners Service investigate.
