A pair of Penticton companies were honoured over the weekend during the B.C. Contractor of the Year Awards.

Peters Bros. Construction won the paving category for its work resurfacing 68 kilometres of Highway 97 near Dawson Creek around the Kiskatinaw Bridge.

The project was delivered on time and on budget using 20 per cent recycled asphalt.

Penticton-based Cantex-Okanagan received an honourable mention in the workplace health and safety category for their new/young worker mentorship program.

The provincial government's Contractor of the Year Awards recognizes excellence in the delivery of transportation infrastructure projects.
